June 6th 2023 A shield and flags update

If anyone is interested here is the file for the shield and flags of the Mac Donald’s below.

Remember ink jet printers are not waterproof unlike laser printers. I spray both sides with varnish before cutting out.

The figure are from Antediluvian Miniatures.

If you can’t download but would like a copy send me your email and I will send it to you.

A word from the Piggy that stayed at home

IAN, known to friends and Taff as Piggy recently told the gang that he had been working on a Battletech project. I asked for an update and he sent this over.

So over 2020 a lot of people have said to me when I have been out walking my dogs, It is so boring with nothing to do, not me.

I have been 3d printing for what seems like forever, yes it is a labour of love for me

But I am slowly getting there

What I am trying to achieve is a 8×4 ft board for BattleTech . Having played on just paper hex maps, while this is fine, I want something better and spotted this….

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwju4qnqgZ7uAhXTT8AKHdx8AMAQFjAAegQIBRAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.kickstarter.com%2Fprojects%2Fhexhogtabletops%2Fhexhog-tabletops-hinterland-hills&usg=AOvVaw3TlUJwygU3PoS0jOvd2hkX

On Kickstarter and got it. The hexes are too big so I have scaled them down to 70% giving me around 60mm across, why this size, well a test print with the hills looked about right with the mech and I could fit 2 mechs on a hex which looks better with CQB action

I did work out that an 8×4 board would take 800 hexes give or take and around 54 days of printing. I do have a few printers all going at the same time.

So at the moment I am still printing hills etc

But nothing painted as yet

There is a small bit of filling to do, but that is what audible books are for.

Any way I will keep you up dated once I have some paint on them etc

Thank you Piggy. Yes, it does seem a true labour of love. Looking forward to our first game of Battletech, which will be……………………some time in the future in a galaxy far far away or once lockdown is lifted anyway which ever comes sooner.
